HIGHWAY 1 AND THE COAST   (64.4 mi / 103.7 km)
 

This legendary loop has been a long-time favorite of Bay Area cyclists. Many have heard of the ride, but few have attempted it. In fact, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say the Planet of the Apes loop is one of the Bay Area’s best-kept secrets. This route follows the coast through secluded stretches on Highway 1 that will make you feel as though you’re on another planet. Enjoy the occasional dirt road and the ever-present natural beauty that abounds. The Planet of the Apes ride is a perfect weekend adventure.

SAWYER CAMP AND SAN ANDREAS TRAILS (29.3 mi / 47.2 km)

Both the Sawyer Camp and San Andreas Trails are paved recreational trails enjoyed year round. Providing fantastic views and a quiet escape, riders looking for an easy roll can simply do an out and back. Those riders looking for more of an adventure can continue onto the Fifield-Cahill Trail for some pristine dirt action. Enjoy reservoir and ocean views while looking up at the beautiful Douglas Fir trees.

A tiny piece of land with tight, intricate, and oftentimes technical trails, Waterdog is a popular spot for mountain bikers along the Peninsula. Compact and never boring, Waterdog is full of fire road and single track adventure.
