CANBERRA CITY TO MT. STROMLO AND RETURN VIA LAKE BURLEY GRIFFIN (27.8mi / 44.7km)

Bike Routes Livelo Canberra Canberra City to Mt Stromlo and return via Lake Burley Griffin

Mount Stromlo National Park was thrust onto the international cycling scene when it hosted the 2009 Mountain Bike World Championships and is a must-do for all cyclists visiting Canberra

Few cities could boast such a spectacular cycling destination so close to the city centre. We've added a nice little spin around the western shores of Lake Burley Griffin as you make your way back to the city.

LAKES GEORGE AND BURLEY GRIFFIN (74.5mi / 120km)

Bike Routes Livelo Canberra Lakes Walter and George - 120km Ride

If you feel like seeing some of Canberra's scenic landmarks and then burying your head for the next 70kms this route is made for you.

Start with a pleasant spin around Lake Burley Griffin, check off the National Gallery, High Court, Governor General's residence etc and then power down as you ride uninterrupted all the way out to Lake George. We've limited the route to 120km but it is very easy to continue past our point of return. It's flat, it's safe, and it's very very beautiful riding along the mysterious 'Lake' George (where did all the water go?).
